Many churches have lists of programs to help you connect with others in the congregation. You won’t find much of that here. Instead, we are an unapologetically relationship-driven church. If you ask “how do I get involved,” we won’t point you to programs but people. In the links to the right, you'll find the main ways that we encourage newcomers to connect with the people of CHBC, as we seek to live out the relational model of the New Testament church.
Blake grew up most of his life in Savannah, GA where he was blessed to have been raised in a family that attended a gospel-preaching church regularly. It was at 13 years of age that he believed the gospel at an evangelistic meeting and began to follow Jesus Christ. When he was 21 years old, he began working with his father in the commercial cleaning industry doing everything from customer service, management, finances, and cleaning. In the providence of God, it was in 2007 when he met his wife Julie while on vacation in the Bahamas and 11 months later got married. While still working in the cleaning business, in 2012 he also began his pastoral ministry at Quacco Baptist Church in Savannah. After attending a Weekender and meeting Mark Dever, it was 3 years later that he participated in the Fall 2015 Pastoral Internship program at CHBC and then came on staff as a Senior Pastoral Assistant. Blake and Julie have three beautiful children, Noah, Avery, and Titus.
