Caleb Morell serves as an Assistant Pastor at Capitol Hill Baptist Church, giving attention to teaching, member care, and the pastoral internship program. Born in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, Caleb grew up in Stockholm, Sweden where his parents continue to serve as missionaries. He became a member of CHBC when he moved to DC to attend Georgetown University in 2012. Caleb completed the Pastoral Internship program at CHBC in 2016, and worked in college ministry with Campus Outreach DC from 2016 to 2019 while completing his Masters of Divinity at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, before joining the pastoral staff at CHBC in 2019. In 2017 Caleb married his college-sweetheart, Clare. They live with their three children on Capitol Hill. Caleb is the author of “A Light on the Hill: The Surprising Story of How a Local Church in the Nation’s Capitol Influenced Evangelicalism” (Crossway, 2025). He is currently completing a PhD in Historical Theology at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, writing on the office of lay elder in Baptist history.
